The main design approach for the ‘1071 KADIKÖY’ Project was formed by its relationship with existing centers of attraction and grand urban transformation of Fikirtepe as a whole. Marmara University Göztepe Campus and Hızırbey Caddesi, located on the south of the plot are connected to Mandıra Caddesi, which will form the commercial backbone of the new Fikirtepe. This connection between North and South is achieved by the public spaces and commercial uses located on the basement floors of the project. The commercial axis along Hızırbey Street is organized to form a public square in the middle of the parcel which allows the pedestrian circulation to be integrated with the leisure activities of the park in the northeast of the plot. In this way, the urban texture, which has been supported with commercial activities along Hızırbey Street, has infiltrated into the parcel, creating a new axis where trade and greenery unite in the northeast-southwest direction. Residential towers, on the other hand, offer a safe and calm living space above the commercial activity by taking entrance from Bahtlı Street at a higher elevation. With the usage of this level difference residential movement is solved without disturbing the public circulation on the ground floor. The buildings are designed with a glass facade so that the houses can overlook the Bosphorus view; To create a warm look, wooden sun shades are preferred on the facades. While the ‘1071 KADIKÖY’ project adds transparency and movement to the urban fabric, it aims to offer a comfortable life for the residents of the project.
